Day One!

We made it! All missionaries made it safely to Belize. 

Once we were divided up into our four rental vehicles, we dropped luggage at our hotel, changed into work gear and went to the church for lunch. Then, it was straight to work! 

We have discovered quite a few of these guys hanging around, supervising our work at the various sites. 

Beautiful patio area next to the church. This has already been a blessing to us as a cool, shaded area to take a break and enjoy a meal. 

Beginning inventory of lumber.

Some of the men getting to work at placing joists and posts for the house we’re building. How blessed we are to have experienced craftsmen leading our construction teams!

Most of the ladies got to work priming the siding for both structures we are building. Tomorrow, we’ll finish priming and hopefully begin to paint. 

These guys made quick work of getting started!

As we close out our first day, we brush off the stress of travel. We shower away the paint, clay, sawdust and sweat. We fall into our beds in the air conditioning and remember how very blessed we are to lead the lives we’ve been given. 

Praise be Jesus Christ. Now and forever.
