Day Three

Day three began with another beautiful Mass.
Then, it was off to the races for all our various projects.
Siding boards that were previously primed are now painted.

The blue team is FINISHED!

Flooring going down on the community center we’re building.

Project Communtiy Center, in the Holy Emmanuel neighborhood, was able to finish laying flooring and add their deck on. Walls will go up tomorrow!

This is the pallet sidewalk the Holy Emmanuel team had to fashion to haul their materials from the truck to the site.
The ground is a swampy clay otherwise.

Team Belama got resourceful with a “hammer shovel!”

Flooring going down and walls going up!

Nearly there…

Checking out the floor and a job well done.

Moving right along!

We all had a little rain to deal with on and off, today. A little bit of a pain to work around, but a welcome reprieve from the heat.

Flooring done, deck done and roof nearly ready.

👍

Final shot of the day for Team Belama.
They worked so hard today and even got a little siding up.
Plan for tomorrow is to try and finish in time to maybe even fashion a set of bunk beds for inside.

Playtime!

Choir members from St. John’s join together.

Some of us got a little more paint on ourselves than others.
We all had a chuckle and needed the photographic evidence that our home must be missing us. That paint splotch looks too much like our beloved Lake Superior!

We ended our day with another delicious Belizian dinner and the reciting of a group rosary.
Each day here has brought joy and laughter, amongst the trials. We go to sleep knowing how very blessed we all are and thanking God for this experience.
